You would be unwise to count your friends automatic as being a negative. He probably has a Turbo350 or 400 transmission. Either one of those are great automatic transmissions that are capable of serious performance.

I have had both and they are dead nuts reliable and shift on cue when manually shifted.

You better pack a lunch if you want to try and beat him with a stock 6er.

Maybe try to race a stock 307 or 283 of the era and you may have a shot but if the betting window is open, I am taking your friend.

yeah man not bring you down but ive been in the same boat

a friend of mine drives a nova with the exact same engine the 402 i drive a 98' 6er with a few performance mods
gears
exhaust
cai
pulleys
thats kind of stuff
my cars an auto but if im to race i go 1,2nd, drive

he still won

its comes down to what your drivings like cause if you want to beat that you better pull a transporter 2 out of your @$$

my advice pick a street you know like the back of your hand and go from there unless your just gonna race him at the local strip.

so good luck though i always root for the 6ers.
