99 mustang more hp!!
I have a 1999 mustang5 speedand I just bought a dual exaust from jegs, I'm geting an air intake and I will tune up the computer so I will be looking at arrownd 240hp? what else can I do to make the car go faster. (please don't tell me to put a turbo, supercharger, nozzzor nothing like that) could I change the cam? what else could I do and how much more horsepower would I get.
thank you for the help!!!

dont call it nozzzz or nos unless you are refering to a specific brand like zex or nx ( nitrous xpress). that would be the cheapest and most efficient bang for your buck for the same price of a cam.
you could install a cam. my future mod lists include 1) gears: 373 ( dontadd power technically but i hear it feels like your car flys afterwards) ( do a search you will find the info you need on this site) 2) aluminum driveshaft ( idk but it cant hurt the hp) ....... i hear a lighter flywheel helps a ****load. Underdrive pulleys ( not a lot but a fun little mod, pulls harder at the higher rpms) .
if you do exhaust intake pulley those usually help in higher speeds or rpms so a good gear set up will help drastically in evening the power everywhere
and down the road though i want to find a 3.8 supercharged out of a thunderbird and build that then drop it into my car .

oh and there is no way in HELL that you will be making 240. wow if you do what you said.... when you say computer tune up do you mean a dyno tune cause thats the only way you can get close to thos numbers. your intake maybe added 2-7 hp and he exhaust not as much as it says i can tell you that

As for what else you could do besides F/I? Well, other than exhaust and gears most bolt-ons simply aren't worth it. Start saving up for a set of p&p heads and ported intake. Do a cam as well and you should see some decent gains. A couple places sell them all as a kit, but I'm sure if you're frugal you can buy the parts and find a shop to do the machine work for you for a little bit cheaper. That's probably your best bet to get some noticable gains without F/I.
thanks for the advice.
I'm thinking on geting my original heads to a shop to do the machine work and a bettercam.(exaust, air intake, computer tune up,gear, cam and heads) whatkind of hp am I looking to get?

Probably nothing youll be happy with. As far as im concerned theres only 3 options to get what you want (power). 1) Force intake, so supercharge or turbo that sucker 2) Nitrous (not a fan but eh) 3) new engine or full rebuilt v6. Other then that its gunna be hard to get moving.
Unless you get an aggressive as hell cam, it will be very hard for you to get to that rwhp number without some type of F/I and the real kicker is that you'll get way worse mph. My advice is to get a Vortec 7-9 psi supercharger and be done with it. You'll still get near stock mpg when not romping on the gas, and you'll be making around those numbers.

Obviously, there are a lot of variables, such as transmission, cam specs, head flow, compression ratio, etc... but that just gives you an idea of what is possible.
Don't forget porting the intakes too. No sense in getting the heads done and then having the intakes act as a bottleneck. I agree with jthorn, just go F/I. It'll cost about 3 grand last time I checked to get a power pak from SSM. Not to mention install on everything. That will get you where you wanna be, or just spend around 3 to go F/I and be done with it. Either way is good though, I thought about the whole N/A thing, but I decided when taxes come in next year that F/I is the way to go.
