Don't forget porting the intakes too. No sense in getting the heads done and then having the intakes act as a bottleneck. I agree with jthorn, just go F/I. It'll cost about 3 grand last time I checked to get a power pak from SSM. Not to mention install on everything. That will get you where you wanna be, or just spend around 3 to go F/I and be done with it. Either way is good though, I thought about the whole N/A thing, but I decided when taxes come in next year that F/I is the way to go.
Yeah, it definitely makes the most sense to just P&P the intakes while you're doing everything else, but if for some reason you can't, you can still make decent power without them.

Also, there are certainly pro's for going F/I, but thereare con's as well... same as going N/A.

I'd advise to carefully consider the pros and cons of both before laying down thousands of dollars.

F/I Pros: yields excellent power gains, under normal driving keeps near stock to stock mpg, allows the car to "boost" up, hense the term, much better in mid RPMs where lag tends to take effect, install can be done by a modest grade mechanic, but for rookies you'll need a shop, kits come nearly complete with everything needed for a perfect install, int other words, no tuning is generally needed for your kits under 11 psi

F/I Cons: high price, install cost could be bad, higher boost will require at least a basic amount of tuning, tuning is a good idea under any boost, but as stated, isn't entirely needed, can be torturous on your mpg if you don't learn to "respect" F/I, and can be hazardous to ones life if you don't respect it, power gains only take effect in a certain range of RPMs, roots S/C = low to mid range power with upper end lag, centrifical = mid to high end power with low end lag

N/A Pros: yields great power gains across the entire RPM range, in other words, no lag, if you know what you're doing, can be done decently cheaply, key word there "knowing"

N/A Cons: can potentially eat the hell out of your mpg, can make the car less daily drivable, unless you're a great mechanic and or know the engine fairly well, the install will be painfull when paying the cost, for those that don't know the ends and outs of an engine, the innitial cost are fairly high, tuning is nearly always needed, runs the engine harder and can potentially shorten the life of that engine or drivetrain if not done properly with properly equaling more long term cost.

Seems to me like F/I is the way to go for the everyday average joe.

Well, I had a reply written up, but it got lost, so suffice it to say, some of the pro's and con's on here are "possible" pros and cons, such as gas mileage and driveability.

Also, there arequite a few personal preferences that go into it, such as sound (whistle/whine vs. lope) and things like that.

Overall, a pretty good rundown, though.
