Default Ebay CAI

Hey guys, quick question.. I want to buy a CAI for my 6er, I've heard that buying a ebay cai is just as good as buying one from K&N or Steeda, Opinions?

Some people on here truely believe that, however, comming from a person that has delt with an ebay cai for more than just a few months, they are not the same. While they will both yeild the same power, ebay cais, unlike name brands, will litterally fall apart on you within a few years, maybe before that. Example, my ebay cai I had on my old sixer went about 3 months before the damn thing went from chrome to a near satin look, withing 8 months the blue hoses began to dry rot, and by the time I got rid of the car, I was planning on replacing the hoses, the clamps, and was possibly considering just getting a new name brand one. The only thing good about the one I had was the K&N filter that came with it. My BBK on my 5.0 is around a year and a half old and looks just as good as the day I took it out the box, well, minus the scratches on the front from working on the engine and headers.[:@]

The Intake I currently have on my stang is a cai from American muscle and the same thing happened with it, the blue hoses are deteriorating and the pipe is no longer chrome but an off silver color... But I purchased this one back when they were mustangtuning.com an paid like 80 something for it, now their cheaper I think[:@]

honestly, myself, am thinking about putting my stock airbox back on with the silencer off i'm not sure if the CAI from fleabay was worth it, i had ordered the wrong kit first off ... had to deal with ebay /paypal to get the refund from the *** ...... took forever for the guy to ship things out

all in all .... all i got was a filter that whisles when it pulls air in [:'(] i think i'll put my stock back on and recharge my K&N i did notice some loss in power when i put the ebay intake on too .... mabye it was me i'm not sure

Well it is plausible if you had intake leaks, and assuming the ebay filter flows less than the K&N which is possible.

I had an Ebay CAI on my old sixer for 2 years. Bought it for half the price of the others. It never fell apart and everything fit right. You guys just have to be willing to take a chance if you get a Ebay CAI. If not, get a K&N, MAC, BBK.
