Default Headlights

I just bought a 98 Mustang 3.8 V6 yesterday. I drove it home, and it was dark so I turned on the headlights, but they were not turned on. I had to turn the brights on in order for my head lights to work.

I pulled my headlight switch this morning, and it seemed to look fine, all the prongs, and spring looking thing looked fine. I tested them with the instructions in the Haynes manual, and it seems to be fine.

What could be my problem? Where should I start? I'm at a loss! I don't normally drive at night, but obviously I need them to pass inspection....

maybe the normal driving filament is burnt out, take your bulbs out and examine the filaments..maybe you just need a new pair of lights

it's a fuse there pimp. There is a high and low beam fuse, and sometimes more than 1 low beam fuse.

Actually, it wasn't. Turns out it was the turn signal switch. Our guess is that you know how for a second when switching between high and low beam, thats where the lights were stuck. Because the high beams worked, but not low.

Thanks chaps!
