is the third brake light supposed to light up when you brake? because i dont think mine is, but when i open the trunk all the way it does.

when you open your trunk it lights up?? wtf. are you sure thats just not the courtesy light? are you other brake lights lighting up? stick a brick or somethin on ur brake pedal and go look at all 3 lights..

 

When I open up my trunk, the 3rd brake light only lights up halfway... but it works fully whenI brake strange...

 

the halfway lighting up is the courtesy light coming on, it's right inder the trunk light.

 

Lol, I thought mine was coming on as well when I opened up the trunk, it's just the trunk light lighting it up a bit.

 

yes as stated the brake light lighting up is NOT THE BRAKE LIGHT. its that white light that allows you to see in your trunk when you pop your trunk at night. it only comes on when your braking. its put so close to the brake light it shines in and looks kind of lit.(maybe its on purpose to tell if your trunks popped at night or see where your trunk is if it was that dark whatever beside the point).

check the bulb(s). if not start pulling fuses (i dont see why the third light would be on its own fuse but whatever). then check to see if a wire broke loose somewhere around there.
