Superchargers
Ive been looking around at the different types of supercharger applications for my 3.8L mustang, specifically those from Procharger. Ive been looking in the 5-7 psi bracket and am wondering wether or not it would be necessary to replace other components in the motor in order to compensate for the added boost. I'd love to think that it would be a quick and easy power adder, but everyone Ive talked to says Im gona need to do a little building, granted they all drive their little hondas and subarus, etc., the usual cracker jack toys. I figured I should really be talking to some fellow mustang guys since I get no respect for my Ford's from them anyway.
go with the 11 psi kit or don't do it. no matter what the car will need tuned. 11psi will be just fine on a stock engine with the proper injectors/MAF/fuel pump and tune.
no need to build the engine. if you want more power and more boost then yes after 11 psi you will need to build the engine with forged rods and pistons

Supersixes new intake makes it possible to use any 03/04 Cobra SC from stock to oh say a KB.
The intake is $900, you have to buy the rest yourself. On the stock parts its a 10psi kit if I remember correctly and it adds about 10-15hp per psi. The stock engine is fine for 10psi.

mine is on a stock junkyard engine with no tune, using the procharger FMU with stock injectors, procharger walbro 160lph in-line pump, stock MAF running 11 psi.
the 3.8 is a tough engine. i need to get my other engine built though and do the fuel system and metering system correctly. the old engine lasted 40,000 miles with the above setup but an injector failed and leaned #6 out cracking the piston on the side through the compression rings where it isn't visible from the top of the bore
