I Hate Autos.....
So last night after a friend and I went bowling, this tacoma with a TRD package is talking $hit. Now for those who dont know, TRD stands for Toyota racing Development, equivalent of SRT, AMG,SVT, etc. So being ignorrant,I was talking $hit back. We go to a nearby freeway and decide to settle it. We started from 45 mph andI threw it into 2 on the auto shifter, and we took off. Now those bitches are equipped with a supercharger and a nice 6-speed.I pull on him hard thru 2nd and in 3rd(but i never get more than a car length)but when we reach 105mph,(Its like 130am) he pulls on me hard and passes me. We did this twice and I'm hella mad thatI lost. Now in my defense,I had a friend with me, and my big *** 12' subs in my back seat and big rim and tires. I dont think if I had those out or smaller rims would I have been able to take him. Those things are rated at 260hp with a freackin SC. So, I've decided to buy gears, t'lok, and aluminum driveshaft next paycheck and start to get sum heat on my baby. I can definitely say that with those massive 265's and 285's i felt really smooth on the freeway. Oh im also gonna be transgo shift kit to help out tooo, I noticed around 110 my car juss didnt accelerate as hard too, but I think I need more tq.
Good story, sorry to hear about the loss. That tacoma sounded like a tough cookie. Aluminum driveshafts are a decent mod, but I would hold off on that till a little later down the mod line. If you upgrade your intake, that will give you some more torque. If you are already that far along then go for that driveshaft! I agree with amrcnidyot, I've been as fast as 124 in my V6, and well..... I could tell that it was not made to go that fast.

(In my defense) I didn't do anything like this (street racing) and I got my A$$ chewed off when I mention a 150mph speedo. I don't get it. ....?
Either way street racing isn't going to do anything for you except get you a big fine and possibly an injury. I'm done telling people not to do it because as Michigan RA proved, it probably won't get me anywhere. Just try and be smart guys, please. It's supposed to be fun, not dangerous.
On the power issue, amrcnidyot is right gears are going to take away from you top speed, but they will make a huge difference going from a dead stop. Besides if you go to a track there are no 45-105mphraces.

dude michigan....dont bring up old ish, in this thread. i stayed within my cars parameters. you were talking about goin way beyond what our cars are capable of handling. now i know i dont need to hit 150mph and even really above 120mph, unless im on a track. i know you got your *** handed to you but dont try to instigate on this thread.

And when it felt sluggish at 110, was it at 110 exactly? Cause at 116 or something the governor shuts off fuel.
Well i know that gears will just take away top speed, im not looking to hit 150mph any time soon, im juss tryin to accel a hell of a lot faster. It was definitely at 110mph, ive hit 119 or so before the governor shuts off my car...ive been at that point before. i think i neeed a oil change soon, been a while.
