Default Need Help - Something hanging from bottom

I have a large piece of rubber that appears to be hanging from the exhaust of my mustang. Could someone take a look at these pictures and let me know what you think it is???

Thanks for any help you can offer!

The 1st is a picture taken from the driver's side, just looking under the car. The second is a close up, taken by reaching the camera under the exhaust (between the 2 90 degree turns) from the passenger side. Again, this is hanging from right below the driver and passenger seats, about dead center.

I don't know enough about cars to be more descriptive than that, but I hope that helps.

Any guesses??? I'm about to take it into the Ford stealership and would love to have some kind of idea to avoid getting scammed.

Can anyone ballpark what they'll charge me to get under there and check it out?

stealerships charge $75-$150 just to look at your car, are they diagnose the problem that cost can go to the repair bill if you decide to go ahead with it.

Is it just me or does that look photoshopped?

It looks like a random exhaust pipe, not rubber. Does it move or anything. It doesn't appear to be doing anything, so I'd personally just rip it off.

It could be a stray piece of rubber you drove over on the road, and unknowingly wedged it under your car. The heat from the exhaust pipes might have melted it on there.

It almost looks like some exhaust work has been done and they forgot to remove a piece after they cut it and it's just hanging there. You can see where it's been rubbing the pipe in the 2nd picture.

have you tried pulling on it? try to yank on it and see if it moves.
