hey all, im a new member to the forum. i own a 98 3.8 auto vert, and am looking to do a complete build. i know im probably looking to invest enough money in the build to buy a new, "faster" car, but i have loved modding cars and have been into fast cars since..forever. SO while im not super rich, im looking into basically building my car from the bottom up, and can invest maybe 10k or so into the build.
so...im looking for a really good reputable shop in the NC area..someone that wouldnt mind keeping my car for a few months, and doing the entire build all at the same time. looking to build the bottom end, supercharge it, build the tranny, etc. im looking to push minimum 250hp/250tq with a set up, preferably still tolerable to drive on the street, though this car is not my daily driver.
can anyone recommend the best shop around these parts? i live in raleigh, but am willing to drop off my car with anyone fiarly close, if they do a great job, and can do the build all at once. im looking for a shop that has access to a dyno too, of course, so they can dyno tune the car with a diablo or SCT.
thanks in advance!

Really? fayetteville isnt far at all, maybe an hour away....ill have to check into it.
im wondering if it will be more efficient to swap a 4.6L engine and supercharge it, instead of building the stock 3.8. from what i hear, i can source a used 4.6 for about 1k, and since i plan on building the bottom end and the head/cam, i might as well spend the extra dough and squeeze out more ponies, and probably more reliably and have better street manners than a maxed out 3.8. (im kind of jacking my own thread, lol).
anyone elses opinion?

i like my 3.8L, really surprised me when i test drove it, i had a mark VII with a 5.0 (225 hp) and my cougar (150 hp) would kill it, if the mark VII was still in stock form that is.
Yea Really Depending on what yea you are Some 4.6 aren't really that much better.. Just the gt,cobra and etc. It just better built for speed. But yea check fayettevile out or lumberton theres some nice places up there.
