Ac Compressor Replacement!?
Hello Guys, I apologize in advance because I know this info is out there somewhere I just can't seem to find it though. Looked for over an hour. Ok I own a 2001 mustang v6 and I need to replace the Ac compressor because mine took a dump. Anyways I need someone to like send me a link to a tuturial with pictureson how to change the ac compressor for this model year or have someone like walk me through the steps on how to do this. Any infowould be awesome. Parts I know I need would be the ac compressor, replacement of the accumulator, expansion valve, and possibly a new condensor, new o-rings and gasketsis this correct? Also I know I need to flush the system. How much approximately do you think I would have to spend to get this job done myself on parts?Any help would be greatly appreciated guys and againI apologize in advance. Thankyou, David

Don't even try to do this job yourself. This is one for a shop that has the know how and tools for sure. If you do some thing wrong it could leak and you'll be paying some one anyway then or worse yet blow up the compressor (I've seen it happen).
You need a special machine to discharge the condensor. Unless you personally own one of these machines, don't do it. It's not safe. It's also a pain in the ***, even with the machine.
I forgot what the machine is called. It's made by Kent Moore and the same is something 2000. I want to say Acer 2000. Something that begins with an A.

I believe Xemeth means a vacuum pump (recovery system) to evacuate the entire system.
