Default Changing to GT Cluster?

Could I change my cluster out for one from a gt its off an 02 GT, my car is an 04 V6? Also if so how would I change the mileage on the new cluster to the same mileage as mine currently. I can get one for cheaper than it would cost to replace my gauge cluster cover cause my plastic clear thing is all scratched up.
