If you had a 5 speed I would say you will take him. If he's that bad at a clutch then you still will probably get em. I dunno tho', I hate automatic fords, I will never own an auto, I flat out hate em. That's just me tho', some folks like auto's. 150hp is exactly right and I have a 1995 v6 5 speed and I win auto's all the time. Even the new ones. Well, not the newest ones with over 200 hp but I'm a great driver and usually win because of that. I'll tell you from experience, I romp auto's or converts all the time. Especially convert autos, I'll flat out walk away from them and that's with a 12" MTX sub box in the rear! With the 5 speed, i don't know about the auto's, I wouldn't shift it passed 4k. I have shifted it at 4500 but the torque falls flat on it's a$$ after 4k. Keep them rpm's up and shift at 4k with his lame double clutching, you'll WIN! If he pops another clutch, you definitely win. LoL. Enjoy!
ROFLCOPTER.............. Hahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahaha hahaahahahahahahahaha

Oh boy... I hate to be a thread killer... But what does your single 12" sub add... 20-30lbs??? lolz.... So great.... What do you have done to your sixer that makes you so b-a...

I was wondering that too. I really wish all of these Newbie's would stop giving advice about racing a V6.

The early model SN95's are slow. Really Slow. Don't try and race them until you have something done to them. People that know anything about cars know how slow our V6's are. It is embarrassing listening to all of these stories about a 94-98 V6 beating or trying to beat all these other cars. Our V6's get beat by most Civics that are stock andin ok shape. lol Sorry if that seems a little rude but it is true. I have a 98 so I am not totally bashing you, just a little bashing. lol

if you lose by just alittle bet him that if he adds 1000 lbs to his car it will be aot different.

run what you brung is soooo played out

ask him if he wants a fair weighed race??

your stang goes 3300lbs with you in it. his MR2 probably 2500lbs. not really an even race.

kinda like a DC 9 vs an F18. no comparison weight wise
That doesn't work...

Ok so I want you to add 1000lbs, does that mean i get a 3.8L v6 opposed to whatever 4banger is in the mr2? See, doesn't work.

More like 50 lbs buddy. This is no cheap sub or box setup. Anyway, I'm a great driver and have been racing for years. I've owned big block chargers, cougars, and various other Mopars. I love mopars, my first car was a 73 cuda and I have a 70 challenger in the driveway right now that runs 10.8's on motor. Lets be real for a second, yes the v6 is dirty dog slow but most drivers suck. Like I said, I beat convertibles and autos all the time just on driving alone. I rebuilt this motor myself when the head gasket blew. I should of did a split port but I really didn't have the funds and this car is my daily driver. I get 32 mpg on the freeway with the 5 speed. The only thing I will admit to doing to the 3.8 is porting the intake and heads. Other than that, she's all stock. The car really needs anCAI and exhaust but I'm not going to do it. I have the bigblock forquarter mile fun and streetdriving. With gas the way it is, i'm lucky to get 10 mpg. Enjoy!

ever see a 66 charger minniesota police interceptor???

361 mid block (pre cursor to the 383) and child of the 350. my dad had one he got for $300 back in 69. converted it to a daily driver.

he got rid of it in 77 in the gas crunch. damn that car was an early childhood boner.

my parents also had a 73 buick Century with a rare 350 buick 4BBL. most were 2bbls. that q-jet wasn't set right and it would bog when the secondaries opened and about a half second later it would awake and slam you in the seat.

the care i really loved was my dad's 74 Coupe DeVille. 500 engine. he had dual Smithy's from one of his old 60's cars welded in and that caddy rocked.

my grandmother has a 69 Skylark 2door with a 455 in it. my grandfather loved buicks and bought this one wrecked from a friend that owned a junkyard. it turned out to be a GS in Cortez gold. he sold it in 85 for $500. io begged him then not to sell it as i wanted it badly at the ripe old age of 12. he told me that it was a gas guzzler and wasn't worth it. he was a practical man and never cared about power but the value of his dollar spent. he was the most honest man i ever knew and could have sold that car for alot more money but that wasn't him and never knew what it was worth. he would plow a field 9probably 5 acres minumum for $20 and felt bad for charging that much. awsome man and my most important role model equal with my dad.

the guy that bought that buick totaled it 2 months later in a november snow storm and tried to make my grandfather feel bad that he sold him a car with too much power. one of my earliest memories was my cram pulling out from an intersection and realizing that a car was coming fast and she was halfway into the intersection. she gave it gas and the car went sideways with that 455 wailing. we wound up in her friends front yard and she was crying cause she was so scared. she was only about 50 at the time. my next best memory of that car was when my grandfather put me in his F1000 360 FE bigblock truck to follow gram down the the garage for new tires. a cat ran out and all you heard was blump blump of the passenger front and rear tires hitting the cat. when we got to the garage my grand father said didn't you see that cat????? she said what cat. never saw or heard it. we had that old 73 F100 for quite awhile. that 360 would really pull. it had power like nothing i ever saw untill my 83 F-250 diesel.

anyways enough of my life car stories.

don't race a sigleport unless your racing an 88 305 camaro. then it will be a decent race but long enough for us old guy's to finish clogging our arteries

The sub and box combo weighs over 50 lbs. I know I know, nobody every believes me I get 32mpg in a sixer 5 speed. I've clocked it, and so has my brother so it is what it is. Custom box and sweet 12" MTX sub is easily over 50 lbs. I'm not getting 32 right now because of o2 sensors problembut im still getting at least 28- 30 currently. Enjoy!

Sweet Cobra, yeah I do know what a 66 charger looks like. I used to own one. It was actually my 3rd car which was a 440 auto car on the floor. Awesome and fun car. Nothing like big block power my friend. It had 355's in the rear and was an intimidating car. I used to live in a real bad neighborhood and they respected the MOPAR. Nobody would race me in that thing. I used to hit double lane fish tails to second gear in that thing, man was she a blast. If it was a 4 speed it would of been wild. Or, just stomp it at a dead stop and watch her dog walk. Gotta love the 355 suregrip. Shoot man, my brother had a 1969 GS Skylark to and let me tell you, she was very wild and impressive. That thing would light em up like nobody's business but a bit of body roll. Pretty big car u know. Get that rockin' the boat feeling but hell of a car. She had the 455 in her as well. I wish I could of grabbed that from my bro! We grew up with fast cars, my first car was 73 cuda, my younger brother's first was a 74 challenger 360, and my last brother's first car was a 67 barracuda notchback 383 autoso we love mopars and fords. I can remember being a kid and riding in my dad's 68 ranchero with a 4 barrel 351 clevland and just tearin' it up. It was only roughly 300 hp motor but still, when you are 12, it's FAST. One of the best cars I got to ride in when I was a kid was a 1970 Mustang Mach 1 429 BOSS 4 speed car that was just AMAZING. He had a 69 camaro at the time with a 350 371 blower under the hood, and the 429 was more impressive than a supercharged 350. Granted, it was the small blower but still, that's saying something right there about how fast that 429 was. I bet he wishes he still had that car. The mach 1 is worth some bucks right now. Heck man, I love the old schools. No SMOG BS, no sensors, just motor, little wiring, and exhaust. Easy to work on and you can do whatever you want to them and still drive them on the street. I remember the first time I drove a posi car. Man was that ugly. I almost landed in a Kmart parking lot. No joke. I was used to 1 leggers and didn't realize you can't just gun it in a 90 degree turn. Anyways, nice stories my friend. Thumbs Up. Enjoy!
