Default cruise control problem

i installed subs and all that jazz in my car 4 months ago and ever since then my cruise control does not work... im pretty sure that its the servo but i cant find it... does anyone know where it is located... i dont like to take my car to a dealer or mechanic since the cost of labor is ridiculous and i do everything on my car that is possible for me to do... and i also want to know... would it be recommended to cut the cats out of a true dual magnaflow exhaust system or leave them in?

there was a recall on at least 98 and 99 stang cruise control cars. i know cause both of mine were serviced for it.

may not have anything to do with your subs.

call a ford dealer and ask them about it or check for TSB's about it.

I have run into the same problem on my car after maintennace and my problem has always been the switch attached to the brake peddle was bumped or pulled apart and not put back together correctly. That keeps the CC from working all together. And FYI it's not the same switch as the one that turns on your brake lights. Mine was white and it had a little plunger that I had to reextend. This will cost you nothing to look at and try fixing yourself. They are very easy to pull apart. Good luck.

Did you ever find the servo? Someone told me it's in the driverside wheel well. I'm having the same problem.

I just started to have the CC not working problem too. The brake lights on my 95 V6 went out, the wires on the switch on the brake pedal. WELL, we fixed that, last week, then this past Saturday, the CC quit working. Does this have anything to do with the brake light switch on the brake pedal?

HELP GUYS. I took off the airbag to get to the switches, well there is a problem. I now have a set of new switches that does not seem to have the extra black wire, seems to me that its a ground wire....I'm really unsure whether or not to install the new switches now. ANyone??

This is my set off the car. Theres a wire that is black that is attached to the metal pieces...not on the new set.

And this is the set that I bought on ebay, notice that there is not an extra wire on one of the switches.

Switch the buttons over to your harness. I've seen this before, it looks like the one you bought doesn't come with the horn wiring (black wires), which isn't all bad but your horn won't work.

P.S You probably bought them off ebay and the guy didn't tell you about the horn wiring being missing.
