Default v6 to a 5.0?

I'm new to this so I'm not even gonna talk like I know what I'm talking about.

My buddy mentioned putting a 5.0 and new trans in my 96 v6 5spd. About how much yall think it would cost?

+1 I agree. Thats what I first thought I was going to do but its better off getting a GT instead of swapping from 3.8L to 5.0L, costs too much.

About maybe $5000 for a 4.6L crate engine and then your looking at possibly another $4000 for a trans. to support that much power.

+1 couldn't agree more. Trust me, if you use the search tool, this topic has been discussed and everyone will recommend just selling and buying a GT instead. You will save a lot of time and money by doing that.

it would cost the same as procharging your 96 and won't even come close to running with your procharged 3.8.

hell i hung with a 97 Cobra yesterday. took him off the line every time. traction was a big issue for both of us as it was only 15 defreakingrees out. he would pull me from a 50 roll but only by 1-2 cars up to 90. it would take alot of money to do that swapping in a 5.0.

$3500 to swap it in and another $3500 be quicker than a 97 cobra

cost of a procharger setup. about $4500

i was wondering the same about what all would need to be changed to go from a v6 to a v8...now i think i'll wait a couple years and by a GT lol plus i dont want to lose the "work room" i have with the 6.
