Default Re-doing Drivetrain!!!!!

Well im finally getting a new stall, goin for a 3200 from Oregon Performance Transmission, along with a trans cooler. Also looking for an Aluim. Driveshaft, cant find one for the Auto, but cant you change out the yokes?? For the rear, my buddy crashed his 04 so im taking his auburn out for $100 with less than 15k on it. Puttin my 3.73's back in too.

Is a girdle worth the $140?
Can the Yoke be switch on t-5/auto driveshaft?
Good size stall?

What do you think? What type of transscooler? i was thinking about

You can get a transcooler from autozone for cheaper and u dont have to w8 on it.

As far as the drive shaft They really dont do much but if u do get it u should get the holder.(i.e. http://www.partsmaxx.com/MUSTANG-DRI...P1919C195.aspx )

I dont know of changing out the yokes.
I think i am getting the same stall.
If U have not U should get a shift kit to add on the power, and tuner for the 3.73s

I got the saftey loop, but i have no need for it, found at a swap meet for $20.

How much are those converters?

I have a transgo shiftkit in already and a 2500, but it didnt seem to do much for me.

If you would be so kindly to explain how the stall is determined....i know if you put a 3200 in a stock car it will be a lot lower stall, and the more hp you have the higher or closer it will be to what its supposed to be.

The stall is determined by the stall converter itself. It won't be a "lower stall", it will enable you to stall your car(foot brake or trans brake)at a higher rpm to launch harder out of the hole. 3200 stall is a high stall converter for a 02 Mustang V6DD. Here's a small article for you. http://www.fuddleracing.com/WhatConvertersDo.html Good Luck!

I know that much, but my 2500 isnt at 2500, more like 2000-2100. If i had like 50 more at the wheels it would be more like 2500 right?

Iwas just wondering... do you actually benefit from a higher stall if say you are going 30 mph down the road and floor it???? What about just idling and thenfloor itfrom a dead stop???

Or is it only good for getting off the line while holding the brakes down and giving it gas to reach the stall speed then releasing the brakes and taking off???

Please, someone explain this to me!

When you do a brake tourque your tires will break loose and spin at 1500 rpms, with a higher stall it will be, well... higher. It allows much harder launches

No, the horsepower has nothing to do with the stall speed of the converter. With the 2500 stall, that's about right, you should start breaking traction around 2k - 2200. Maybe 2800 - 3000 stall, might be what you are looking for if you drag race your ride! I wouldn't go higher than 3000 with a daily driver! Good Luck!

wrong. hp and torque have everything to do with stall speed. a big block will stall the converter higher than a 3.8 because it has more torque. a converter is a torque multiplier.

a 3200 stall is not too high for a 3.8. my 2500 feels no different than stock. going to an Edge converter 3200 single disk lockup. i start breaking traction at about 1800. if i had a bigblock it would stall higher.

rpmxtorque makes overall stall speed. not rpm alone

anyone that has a 3000 or higher stall on their V6 will tell you that is the only way to go

about $600 for one of them but sometimes you can find them on EBAY cheaper
