Default shifting issues

I have a '99 that seems to have a issue with the transmission. After I start it I have problems getting it to shift from park. It doesn't do it all the time it happens often enough to be annoying. What could be the problem?

Possibly the brake-shift interlock going out. The safety system that makes you have to press the brake to shift out of park. Happened to my '02. It was doing it sometimes, likeyours is,for no more than a day before it gave out all together and wouldnt come out of park. Im not sure at all tho of course. Just throwing that out bc it sounds similiar to my situation. Hope its not tho, cost me like $200-$300 if I remember correctly.
