Camaro.
Rule of thumb: Take a similar year Camaro and similar year Mustang, and put them up against each other in a comparable lineup (V6 vs V6, GT vs Z28 [although that's not really fair]) and the Camaro 99% of the time will win.
V6's can be a drivers race for a V6 Stang.
An LT1 Maro can be a drivers race for a 99-04 GT.
An LS1 is pretty close to 03/04 Cobras, and faster than a Mach.

Id say the stang. My old roomate had a 95 camaro v6, and I have my mustang, and mine felt a lot faster than his when I drove it a couple times... although it might have been the 3.4 or whatever they made them with.[&:]

The mustang is lighter, roughly 3100 - 3200 lbs, and the camaro is a little over 3300 lbs. The mustang has 193hp and the camaro has 200hp. I will have to agree, the camaro has better gearing/tranny, but with the weight difference, this will be a drivers race.If your a good driver I bet you squeeze em out. GL

The 3800 camaro wins everytime...
The 3400 can ALMOST stick with a split port stang..
And so on with every year model from the LT1 on to 2002 when they stopped producton
