I'm going to say depends on which ones went out. The two upstream have a different pigtail than the two down stream. Which ones are out?

the rear two. i believe my '96 only came with two o2 sensors anyway. i have an o/r x-pipe with the bbk mil eliminators. still didn't take the codes off. So i have come to the conclusion that they o2 sensors must be fouled. Correct me if i am incorrect in my judgement though!

Rear two will have the MILS on them if you are running an OR H pipe. So it's the upstream two. What code did it toss? Heater circuit or O2 failure? And which side (or both)?

The heater circurt failure and it threw two others that i can't think of off the top of my head relating to the sensors. I believe both sensors. I am a bit confused right now. My stock y-pipe only had the two o2 bungs after the cats. No place of the upstream two. I simply assumed i didn't need the upstream two o2 sensors so i just plugged the bungs up on my o/r x-pipe. Was i incorrect in my assumption?

You might have to change out the connectors off the F150 wires. If they have the same wire configuation 98% sure you can use them.
Front o2 sensors are used for fuel feedback operation. They measure the exhaust oxygen content & the computer converts this into a fuel trim reading if the fuel ratio is not correct. This really occurs most consistently on highway driving, but front o2 sensors are in continual use. Can the car run without them? YES...... but you'll get codes. So you need them fitted unless you like staring at the CEL ! The rear o2 sensors check out the CAT operation, they do not affect how the car runs, but can still throw a CEL. You can get these deleted out with a tuner. You should not run without the fronts fitted. Not wise & not legal!
