u lost me, never said it fixed exhaust leaks, said it will most likely take care of ticking if its in the engine and u dont need to drain it, because i have and still am using it for just that. and whats not a common problem?
in all 12 of your posts you have mentioned sea foam, do you work for them?

the exhaust leak is THE most common problem on the v6s your mentioning engine rebuilds and seafoam... which id bet have nothing to do with this

I'm almost certain that it's the exhaust leak. I listened to a vid on youtube and it was pretty much the same noise. It seems to be getting worse quite rapidly though... Now I can hear it a little more when the engine is warmed up...

if it its ticking then u could have a real problem..to me it sounds like pistons are giving or exhuast leak..because when i had a manifold crack it was horrible..ask a local shop

This is what i'd do if i were you. Grab a drop light an get under your car, inspect your exhaust manifolds an see if you can see any cracks. if you cant see anything you could try what i did. Very carefully once you start your car stick your hand down near the back of your engine, if theres a leak you should feel hot air on your hand being blown around. if you feel some than most likely you have a leak. you can also get underneath your car while its on and just move your hand around the bottom and feel. But remember, there will be air being pushed out from your flywheel so just ignore it comin from the front of your tranny.

okay, so I seafoamed my engine...

Last night I put 1/3 in the crankcase and then 1/3 in the gas tank. Drove it around and whatnot, and then this morning, after it had cooled down (I figured if I had an exhaust leak that's when it would be most prominent), I ran the last part through the vacuum line. Well, I had a nice nice nice smoke show, and people probably through I was burning oil like no other, but it all came out of the tailpipe. Not even the slightest bit of smoke came from under the car or from the headers, which makes me worry that it might be something more serious. Of course, it could be that the leak isn't very big (which the noise isn't really that loud unless the car is cold), so maybe since it was like int he 70's today the leak was mostly sealed up... I dunno. I'll probably put it in the shop next weekend since I'm having surger on tuesday and can't drive for like a month. Whatever it is, I'm gonna fix it if I can, because I dont' want to get raped by the shops for something I don't have to.

It really sounds like it's coming from the crank/flywheel area, but I dunno. It's a lot more noticeable under the car that anywhere else if that helps, so I'm fairly certain it's not the heads or lifters or anything. Like I can barely hear it from the top of my engine, but when I get under the car right behind the front wheels, that's where I can really hear it best.

Gah I hate this crap.
