I have a 96 3.8l 5 speed and have been having this problem for a long time and i have blown loads of money on nonsense because no mechanic seems to be able to figure it out. The codes read cylinder misfire(1), p0171 and p0174 i believe. It says running rich/lean. I cleaned the MAF and it appeared to be fine checked my intake, spark plugs are pretty new and look fine and the wires are also in good shape. there is no exhaust leak other than the muffler which is behind the back O2 sensors. Purge flow selunoid was replaced also. I am so confused if anyone can help me id really appreciate it thanks!

 

my money is a coil problem or bad 02 sensors. good luck.

 

i was wondering if maybe the coil pack cuz both bank 1 O2 sensors are going off and ive changed one so that leaves the coil pack, easy swap?
