Default speaking of turbos......

this is what my money is going to. for $5200 i found a guy who will build a turbo kit for my car using aluminum intercooler piping, a 3-core spearco intercooler, turbonetics t3/t4 hybrid, and custom turbo headers. he has guaranteed me over 350 rwhp on only 6 PSI on stock internals, and i will be running 11-14 PSI on a forged 4.2 stroker with 9.4:1 compression. so i was wondering if i should save up the money or take out a loan, or save up half and get a loan for the other half. i am lost, as usual, so i need some advice, and no B.S. .

If you really really want to spend 5200 dollars to make 350 RWHP why don't you just put in a forged shortblock and spray the **** out of it, and save about 4 grand?

Hell, you could get a new rearend, some nice slicks on new tires, the nitrous and the bottom end and still be way ahead.

BTW, better watch your RWHP on the 14 PSI setup, your gonna crack the freaking block without some sort of girdle system at the very least.

the 3.8 block is a beast. 14 PSI won't break it because people with supercoupes have run over 20 PSI without problems

I would put a girdle on the bottom end for safety. It would be a shame if you blew it appart because you didn't put a couple hundred dollar piece of equipment on.

Try and save up half if you can wait long enough. WIll make the payment so much lower down the road.

why would you have a custom setup built? go to the pro turbo kits website and they have pre-fabbed kits that only need to be tuned. but anyways, do any one you know who Brad Brand is? he has the fastest mustang on the planet. but i am basically getting the hook up thanks to some freinds in high places.

and yes, the block will have a girdle and forged internals so it won't become an SRT, super rod thrower.
