Don't waste your time with a chip. Save the extra $150 a get an x-cal 2 or 3 flash tuner - you can change the tune as you do specific mods to your car without sending the chip off to get it reprogramed.

Justinhas beenworking onsetting me up with an x-cal 3 for the last few days.Hopefully I'll get it bymid-next week... Justin is a busy guy so I'm in no huge rush. I'll let you know how good it is whenI get it.

I was under the impression that with a tuner, you want it after you get CAI and exhaust, it get's the car running the best with these mods.

Yes, in most cases it enhances/compliments most performance mods that you do to reach the maximum potential of each mod. Tuners arecrucial when it comes different cams, heads, superchargers, etc.

From what I've heard, moredyno/tuner shops use the SCT when it comes to themustang. As far as gains, I suppose it depends on who tunes them.Nearly all the tuners come with about three canned tunes (93 octane porformance, 87 octane gas mileage, etc.). The trick is who is going to do a custom tunespecifically for your mods which is where good gains come from.If you get one from VMP, you fill out a form with all your mods and special tune requests (i.e.: for autos, where you would like the shift points to be changed to, etc.).I got mine shipped out today, so it should be herein a couple of days. I'll let you know how it is once I get it. I got it mostly for future mods tho.

it should be mentioned, or stressed that is said to be most beneficial for autos, because you can change shift points, make them more firm.
