Engine swaps?
Hey guys,
Im new to this forum, and had a question that i have been wondering about.
Is it possible to swap in a 2005 or 2006 mustang engine into a 1999-2004 mustang?
also
Is it possible to swap a engine such as a 331,302 and etc.. (as found here: http://www.fordcobraengines.com/EFI_Fordengines.htm) into a 1999-2004 mustang, and what i would have to do for it to run properly (probably some engine mounts, maybe a trans? im not sure)
again i am new to the forum, so i am not sure if this is the right place or not.
Thanks in advance

None are worth it. For the cost, put in a 4.2L V6 and add a S/C to it.
Older push rod V8s require a lot of modificaion to the comptuer set up and suspension/brakesto run them, and you sill would have to pass V6 emissions (if in a state thatchecks).
4.0L SOHC motors would need the same wiring headache PLUS custom made motor mounts made since none are out there for the 94-95 or the 96+ K memebers.
Not worth the time or $$.

+1 to all he said.
but IMO, the ONLY way for it to be worth it is to find a wrecked 4v stang, and pull everything you need- i mean everything. suspension, trans, engine, guage cluster, ecu, wiring, mounts, etc.
overall, not worth the hassle

oh ok, thanks for the opinions guys!
i was just wondering if it would be possible because i was looking into picking up a mustang v6 for cheap (or one that needed a motor) and either dropping a 4.6 gtengine into it, newer mustang engine or one like the engines on fordcobraengines.com
since around here alot of people are selling their 1999+ mustang gts for more then i want to spend, i figured id could do a little project and keep it around what i want to spend.. or close to it

by the way, it might help if i posted my goals up:
i was/am planning on having a nice clean looking motor and not having wires everyone and it looking dirty(and showing some chrome maybe), also looking to make around 300hp-400hp. i dont think i really need more then that as it would be a Daily Driver

then your 3.8 can do that as is. a procharger from VMP will give you around that, as will a basic street turbo from TMA. just watch it- stock internals cant take much mroe then 350rwhp
hmm, interesting
would you suggest a procharger that use noted, a vortech supercharger or something else (sorry im still kind of new to this, but im looking into stuff). Also would it be better to super charge a 3.8? or would it be worth it more to supercharge a 4.6? i mean the only difference between a 1999 mustang v6 and 1999 mustang gt is the engine correct?
also this has nothing to do w/ the supercharging, but just a question i cant find a answer to online. What is the difference between the gt v2 engineand the gt v4 engine(i believe the v4 is the cobra) is it supercharged or something? or is that only the mach I and svt's that are supercharged from the factory?
thanks!

Who has that procharger kit for like 4,500 bucks? it comes with pretty much every single thing you need for install.
And the v2 is the regular gt engine, the v4 is in the 03 04 cobras. Dunno bout the 99-01 cobras, for some reason i wanna say they are 3v, but then again i thnk thats for the 05+ v6s or gt's... i dunno, i need to put the dutchie down [&:]
