Just got 2 free borla xs from a freind of mine...are they worth the install..thinking true duals...to tips just dumped before rear..or should i x or h pipe them. What would sound best. my car is basically stock thinking of mild mods later nothing major

 

free = definitely worth the install. most people will tell ya borlas dont sound all THAT great on v6s, and will recommend flowmasters or the flow knockoffs, but they dont sound bad. much better than stock. if you have the cash to have an xpipe or hpipe before them, itll help with the tone...i prefer the sound of an h, myself. i dunno about the dumps though..i like the idea, and it would cut a few pounds off the car, too, but on my vert, i think the exhaust at idle will be not so good.

i agree with what songtradingusa just wrote. it's free hook em up, if you don't like them you can change out the mufflers. a lot of people do dislike the sound, magnaflow, flowmaster, and summit force are the popular choices.

 

Magnaflow/borla/slp - don't sound very good... they flow better however.

 

I personally, love borlas, but not on a sixxer. I run them on my Mopar and they sound AMAZING!! Great mellow throaty idle tone, AWESOME sound when wide open throttle. I have a stroked 400 so I could put some cheap turbo II's on there and it would still sound phenominal. Anyway, for free, I say hook them up, what do you have to lose. If you don't like em', have a shop cut them off and sell them to get flow 40's, maybe some spintechs or something. GL

 

I agree that they don't sound as good. They have been dyno proven to pick up a little power though.
