Default 99' fuel problems

ok, i the other day my muffler went through my gas tank and smashed my fuel pump, so i bought a used tank and pump from a junk yard. i installed both of them and my car ran fine for about 30 miles or so. then stalled out, exactly like when my fuel pump was smashed.

today i removed my tank to find out what was wrong.
and found alot of sediment and dirt n stuff. so i replacedONE of the filters on the pump that i could get to,and my fuel filter.

you can hear the pump turn on when u turn the key, but there is no gas pumping out of the line when disconcted from the fuel filter

the only thing that i could figure it would be is the other filter on the pump is cloged

or,
the fuel pump turns on but doesnt pump any fuel
please help me

This could be the worst answer ever... but do you have fuel in it?
Sometimes when working on that area, the float gets stuck, so it looks like you have gas but you don't.
