Default Brake question

I just put new 18" wheels on my gf's mustang. It seems to take more effort to stop the car now. I am looking to get new brakes for better perfomance. Should I replace the rotors or entire kit? I am looking for the best bang for my buck. Any help is appreciated.

How heavy are your wheels? Mine weigh less than my stock 16's did. If you got big nasty chrome ghetto wheels then you need to upgrade your brakes, other wise it just may be a coincidence that your brakes are getting bad.

Upgrade to the Cobra/Mach 1 set up right from Ford. 13" discs up front with larger calipers do wonders for slowing them down.

Bigger wheels weigh more. Takes more energy to get them moving and get them stopped. Yes, your braking will suffer. You should resurface the rotors and switch to a better pad.
