How to clean TB and MAF?

Default How to clean TB and MAF?

I'm getting some pretty bad milage. Would cleaning my TB and MAF help? How do I clean them?

I don't think you're supposed to mess with the tb. i cleaned mine w/ carb cleaner, THEN saw the sticker on the tb that said NOT to clean it, because it's got a special coating that's made to resist build up and cleaning it will remove that coating. both my stangs have the sticker, so I think it's a common thing.
I was told that the tb shouldn't be dirty as long as you maintain the engine well.

go to your local auto parts store and look for MAF cleaner. Then dissemble your housing on your MAF or if you own a CAI just remove your MAF and spray the cleaner generously. dont do it in heat or direct sunlight and handle your MAF very carefully because if you break the small wire sensors prepare to pay for a new MAF.
