that makes sense when u say that your hand can only shift so fast... so how about 312 HP like those new Bullits? do they have a hard time shifting? or is that a reasonable number to deal with?

Ok so im thinking i will just build an auto, i know the 4 parts listed, is that ALL i will need? also does anyone have a write up for this, would be GREATLY appreciated, also (off topic) i got about $300 now to spend whats a good mod i should do? already got full exhaust etc...im thinking i wanna get a t-lok or gears but are the 3.73 the fast launch low top speed or the 4.10 the fasdt launch low top speed?
If all you have is $300, you don't have enough for gears+tlok. The install itself will probably run $300, so unless you get the parts for free, it isn't happening.

You do not lose top speed with 4.10s. I don't know why people say that. I can hit 130 with my 4.10s, and I'm almost positive I couldn't do that with my 3.27s. There is no reason to ever go that fast anyway, considering our cars barely trap 90 mph.
My car hits 130mphplus or minus 5mphin 4th gear with the stock 3.27's...

Until you're breaking into the 10s, you'd be better off with a manual.

Get a shift kit or tune it with a chip or Programmer but honestly nothing is like the real thing. Out of all the mods I done the car swapping the auto for manual has given me a HUGE improvement even my MPG went up!
my 5spd swap is definitely my favorite mod so far
automatics win races, 5 speeds impress high school kids
manual = fun and controll
Auto = dd

manuals for the street or for road/auto-x, for drag racing its all autos,

my old camaro with a ratchet megashifter and shift kit and 2000 stall (blew the tranny and the guy got a dealon it, way to lowofa stall IMO tho)was alot more fun to drive then a 5 speed, i would of loved to have a 2600 stall with a manual lock up

Ok can we apply this to the newer mustang now?

I have an 07 V6 and I want to swap the auto for manual. I just don't see any point in modding it if it's an auto...So how much would this cost me?
I've also heard some things about a shift kit? What is this and how much would it cost?

The point is if your planning on pushing alot of power, regardless of what year, your auto will shift faster then a manual and wont miss a gear...

Well I'm not planning on anything over 350HP so in that case a manual would be better. So in an 07 how much would the switch cost? and is it worth it?

anyone thought of putting like a paddle shifting system in their car? Its just an idea, quick shifts, just as fast as an auto, with the control of a manuel. comments?
