I think in the manual it tells you to shift at 11mph from 1st to 2nd, 20 mph from 2nd to 3rd, and 30 mph from 3rd to 4th. I shift into 5th around 45 or so, but sometimes i'll just leave it in 4th. roughly you shift around 1800 rpms for best gas mileage, and when i'm accelerating "hard" i shift at 3-4k usually

usually this is howI shift:
1-2: 3k
2-3: 2500
3-4: 2k
4-5: 2k

I can't do the 4-5 shift at 2k if I'm going up any kind of incline at all, though.

Dependes on if your racing, and what year you have. The 94-98 stop producing power at 3,800 RPMs, over that your loosing tourque I believe I read. Someone can correct me if Im wrong. If your trying to save gas, 1,800 on a flat road, 2,100 or a incline, 2,500 on a sharp incline.

I agree with Matt on the gas mileage shifts. I think the singleports make power past 3800 though. Maybe around 4200-4500. I used to shift my 96 at 5200 at WOT with no problems.
