Hood scoop functional
I really want to get a new hood or hood scoop for my car. Buty if I do I want to make it functional.
1: Where can I get a hood or hood scoop?
2: How do I make it functional?
It's on a 1996.

There are none that are truely functional. The Cobra, Cobra SS, Cobra RS, Cobra R 2000, and Saleen are about the only "semi-functional" hoods for early Sn-95s. If you get a true Saleen, then it's functional from the get go, the others, have to be modified by having the fiberglass cut, and the insert made/inserted and even then, they don't cool off the engine too much. The Cobra is also functional from the get go if you get one from Ford, or an OEM part, however it's barely more functional than the standard hood.
Sorry I forgot to mention I have a 96. I want one but it's stupid if it doesn't do anything because that's just more drag than needed!!
Maybe a cowl hood then??

haha unless you do some SERIOUS modding you'll never go fast enough for the miniscule ammount of drag to effect you.
If you are worried about drag you need to:
1. Pan and channel the underside of your car
2. add adjustable front and rear spoilers
3. remove your mirrors
4. shave your door handles
5. lower...alot lower
6. visit a wind tunnel and discover that mustangs are not aerodynamic...
but really..yeah id go cowl its probably the moust functional...not for intake but for cooling. the wind coming off your bumper and over the roof causes a low pressure at the base of the windshield that will push cool air down the cowl and into the engine bay.
