that is a really, really poor excuse to run open headers. its like saying, hey, im bored, let me cut my hand with a kitchen knife.

running open headers on your car will 1-make you deaf within the hour (search open header mustang on youtube, if you like), 2-sound God awful, 3-absolutely kill your performance by butchering your low end, 4-probably give you carbon monoxide poisoning by letting exhaust fumes in the cabin, and 5-most likely get you a ticket from a cop for a-noise violation and 2-no cats.

but hey, if youre really bored, its your car.

take a 15mm socket and a long long extension and disconnect the collectors, then start it, hear how sh!tty it is, and put it all back together. But at least you ge tto severely burn yourself learning a lesson since the exhaust will be nice and hot when you do it!

You shouldn't run open headers. If you do so, you are not accounting for the 4 oxygen sensors being taken out of the loop - you're computer will read the A/F ratio wrong and you could destroy your motor. Even if it does run, it won't run correctly, and you will barely make enough power to move the car.

But what do I know.
Go for it and report back to see how it went.

All that and nothing mentioned about what he could do to his exhaust valves?

No doubt, easy to suck a valve when you let off(back pressure)! OP, don't be a donkey dude, you are compromising your motor for no reason, unless you like working on your car because of idiotic mstakes!!

I figured I put out enough reason to not do it without talking about floating a valve.
