Default Transmission Problem!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok just when i thought my car was looking better with my recent exhaust being done my transmission start giving out. It slips alot going from first to second and now just recently its starting reving it self all the way to 5000 rpms on its own. It does that from time to time and it jerks it self alot when on the freeway. I was wondering what would i have to do to solve this problem? And if push comes to shove what would be a good price for a transmission? What would be a good transmission to put in the best one? The car is auto and i would like to make it manual but its to much work so i would rather just keep it auto. And when i buy the new tranny what would be some good add ons while im at it like and alluminum fly wheel maybe a shift kit or what?
