Please Help! Have a 2000 mustang with a bad howl in back end not sure if rearend or universal some say one some say other! some say I need a special tool to fix! not paying shop rate!! It is realy bad , no matter how loud you turn radio up! please help!! I need my girl!

its your BRAKES. i had the same problem. got all new brakes and rotors and no more HOWL.

 

What do you mean howling? Take it to a shop like merchants. They do free brake checks, plus the tech will most likely look over the whole car because he wants to make as much money as he can. Then you can just say you will come back in a week when you have money and do the work yourself.

 

well lets see! not really sure how to explaine howling so bare with me ! All I can say is it sounds like (waa waa waa) and as you speed up it gets louder and faster! but if you let up on the gas its not so loud! it sounds like its comming from back end! Where is this (merchant) I just spent 600$ in front & back brakes about a month ago! they did a crummy job! still have a bad metal screach in front pass. side brake! could this be the universal!!
