Default fuel pump!

alrite as you can probably guess my fuel pump quit and since i have inadaquate tools to fix it im getting it done at a garage that i worked in at one time. i am apparently looking at 1.5-2 hours to pay them for to do it and they are going to charge me 300$ for a ****ing fuel pump. my question is, because i plan to convert to a 302 in about a year when i can afford it, does it need a better fuel pump, and if so, if i get a better fuel pump for it, will it run on the 2.3L or not? i just want to avoid spending alot of money and if i have to buy a used one temporarily it works for me as long as itl last till i convert anyways. thanks

Default RE: fuel pump!

alrite well i have a fuel pump now and the garage should be able to put her in tomorrow. ive heard of ppl drilling a hole into the floor of the car over the gas tank so if the fuel pump go's you dont actually have to remove the tank, is this stupid? (course id make sure to do it with the gas tank off the car)
