UH, cruise at 72 and you'll be amazed at the difference. If you can keep the rpm's below 2k while cruising, you'll be very suprised at the mpg difference.

there really isnt that big of a milage diff between a 6er and GT, i used to do 19-20 and my buddy gets 22 or so with it now that he replacd the calipers,

every~5k
oil
filter
tire preasure

every 30k
fuel filter
tranny
rear diff

50k
radiator
plugs
wires
coil
You should check that about every other week for safety purposes, not MPG. Much more important.

Im posting this for my girlfriend who just recently got a 2001 Mustang. She's been driving it for about two weeks and she noticed a problem with how much gas mileage she had been getting. She gets about 230 miles to a tank...but I drive a 2001 Mustang GT and get about 300. She took it to a mechanic just to have it looked at and he mentioned a tune up. Could a simple tune up make up for a 70 mile to a tank difference like that? If not what else could be causing that? Thanks in advance
Auto trans., city driving, and a moderate to lead foot will destroy gas mileage. I only get about 250-260 miles a tank for a little over 13 gal. of gas.... that's like 80% city; I'm an auto that drives too fast at times as well. I've never had a true hwy run on a tank so I can't tell ya for that.

I usually get like 4-500 kilometers to a tank(250-313 miles). I let my mom drive to the city and back and she kept the speedo at 105km/h(65mph) and we got 500 km to half a tank. Its basically all about the driver and his/her habits. I cruise at 110km/h(69 mph) when im on the highway.

i usually get 260 stomping it and city/highway driving. Spark plugs made the huge difference in mine. A good tune and i was good to go

I can get 300 out of a tank if i keep it under 70, its all about driving style. And how the car is maintained.
