hi guys im trying to replace my flywheel in my stang was wondering do ya now of any site that has great detail in doing it

i bought a CD on ebay. tells aberything about mustangs: maintenece, repair, diagnostics, etc.

its a pretty simple thing to do... but if you dont know what your doing,the 94-04 mustang book you can buy at any auto parts store tells you exactly how to go about it... not sure about the flywheel, but i know it tells you how to remove your clutch, and the flywheel is only 6 bolts further...

jack car up
place on jack stands
unbolt driveshaft
remove inspection plate
disconnect clutch cable
use transmission jack to support tranny
unbolt tranny
lower tranny out of the way
remove pressure plate and clutch disc
unbolt flywheel
instal new flywheel to proper tq specs
instal new clutch and pressure plate using alignment tool
re-instal tranny
reconnect cluth cable
re-instal driveshaft
remove jack stands
lower car
done.

my exhaust system is always in the way... and i ususally just hold and lower the transmission....a tranny jack would just be... in the way

ill be the first to say this: time for an upgrade! buy an aluminum one, get into your powerband faster.

i heard aluminum not good for a dd car b/c the cluth will slip on a hill + i might plan on sc it need something a lil stronger

you will definitely need to disconnect the exhaust system, i'm 100% sure about it. i changed clutch for my 95 pony. actually i didn't do it, but i saw every single step what mechanic was doing.
