Exclamation Help me!

I just picked up a '94 V6 ragtop. The body's in excellent shape, and the undercarriage is pretty solid. Only downfall to it, is I know it has a bad tranny, and am at a stalemate with what to do. Should I just rip the tranny out and can it, or have it be rebuilt? I'm by no means new to Mustangs, my dad always had one from 70-73 he was building, but I'm clueless with the new stuff. Any help I could get from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Well it depends on what needs to be fixed with the tranny and what your budjet is.

Well, I got the chance to actually drive it the other day, and the tranny slips a little...the fluid's burnt pretty bad. No metal in it, and it shifts pretty solid. It hesitates to go into gear once it gets warm though. The previous owner told me that it had been overheating, and now that I've driven it I know that the water pump's no good. Is it possible that the engine overheating would overheat the tranny and cook the fluid?
