Default T5 Empty!

I assumed the T5 in general wasnt the smoothest shifting tranny especially with the Tri-ax. Out of curiousity thoughI had the fluid checked and it turns out the damn thing had about a half inch left. It has zero leaks and 24k. It runs a hell of a lot smoother now, filled with mecron up to the fill hole. Im wondering why the thing lasted? And all this time Ive been ripping on it.

my cousin recently changed the oi in his Mercury Mountaineer ...so he thought. He pulled the plug on his tranny instead of the oil pan. Added five qts of oil to the crank case, then drove to VA from SC with 4 extra qts of oil in the motor (assuming it was a quart low) and NO tranny fluid! Made it there without a problem. Went to crank it the next day and the motor was running "funny" he and my uncle figured out what he did over the phone.
