i believe its as easy as taking the ball off of the top, cutting it with pliers and putting the ball back on

I was thinking about cutting the mast down a little bit to be even with the top of the car, guess about 14", but will it mess up reception any?

i think the ball is welded on the tip.

six, why 14? go with 8". the reception will be lil worse, but who's using radio in our days?

I dunno, just don't like them that short, want it level with the top of the car, maybe a little bit shorter...

But true...must say that I listen to the radio 1% of my time spent in the car...

Yeah don't buy one from AM. They may be cheap but they aren't made right or something. Mine was always leaning to one side and i could never get it tight enough. Two of em ended up broken cuz they don't sway enough. Somebody could just come buy and take a whack at it and it'll break right off

Why even put the ball back on? I haven't and I don't notice a difference in my radio siginal. And cut it even to the height of the roof, any shorter and it looks awkward imo.

I think it looks weird without the ball on personally. There might not be any diffrence with the reception but....
