Default Do I need a new starter?

I have an '00 that just eclipsed 117K last night. I started my car up yesterday and it took a good 5 seconds before it turned over. While turning the key, it sounds like it's not even gonna start. You think I can use some new plugs, or a tune-up, or is it common that I'd need a new starter with so much mileage?

How's the battery and cables. I have almost 107K on mine, and I put an Optima Yellow top in it the day I bought it. Have yet to have a single issue.

Well I put in a Die Hard battery last summer and right after that I got a brand new alternator. I'm not sure about the cables they're probably the same as when the car was made.
