What else do you have done to your car? What is it doing to the plugs? Why did you waste your money on the E3's?

How old are the plugs and wires? Pull the plugs and look carfully at the porcelain to see if there are any cracks. I would replace the plugs. Either with the E3's you already have or just use standard autolites and see what happens.

Plug wires do not call for specific plugs.

Since you are trying to upgrade your ignition I recommend the Screamin Demon coil pack. I have one on my 98 and I could feel a difference. It was around $75 I think.

Try some basic stock replacements that are cheap.

Exactly, the expensive plugs are not needed in basicly stock engines. I run stock replacements in everything I have and have never had any problems.

so let me guess, you bought the cheap ebay spark plug wires, but slapped some platinum plugs in cuz auto zone said that they were the best thing. Buy some stock motorcraft plugs, and some decent plug wires and it should be fine

motorcraft plugs are made by autolight so save yourself the few cents and just get standard autolight plugs, however i had no problem with the halo plugs i had in my 02
