Hey i didn't mean it to burn but if your going to talk at least know what you are talking about.
Moontang i should charge you $180 like i do the customers at the dealer when they don't know what they are talking about
well here is a learing you can do
CEL means CHECK ENGINE LIGHT
MIL mean Malfunction Indicator Light
I have yet to see any light that says MIL on it.

No CEL; No MIL; Checked the fuses and relays, but didn't replace any. Figured end of the resetting if one was bad.....Checked visible wires. Would a diagnostic reader do me any good? I know you can get readers that will not clear the faults, but since I don't get a warning I guess I'm not to worried about clearing the fault/alarm. Any suggestions on a reader and the type? Does anybody have a list of error codes or are they too cryptic?

Hasn't anybody seen a fault like this? I would gues its the ECU (or whatever Ford calls the chip), but I would hate to think what they cost....Would a Haynes etc., go into enough detail to help me or am I just SOL? I have the full set of manuals on my other car, but I'm not familiar enough w/ my wifes car....
