so i have a 99 mustang and i have a promblem.... my engine light blinks??? what does that mean? but i have noticed when i get on it (floor it) when it is blinking it does not accelerate fast it stay constint slow acceleration any one knows the promblem??? PLEASE HELLLPPP LOL

 

Blinking light means your car needs attention immediately.

 

have you read the computer with a code reader?

 

That means the car is in limp mode because it needs help ASAP. That happened to me when my cats were shot.

 

Do you have ANY oil pressure? Your car is going into limp mode, you're not supposed to floor it when that happens.

 

So, What could cause this? This is my friends car and I'm trying to figure out what we can do. The autozone that ran his codes were idiots so I'm having him take it to the one by me. Any comments would be appreciated.

 

hey how much did it cost to repair it? i took it to a mechanic today and they wanter 100 dollars just to chek it out but he did say it is a great chance it is my cats...?

 

Like they said the car isnt accelerating because its in limp mode...the blinking CEL is likely because of a misfire

 

Mechanics LOVE to blame things on Cats going out, cuz they can sell you new ones + install, and then sell your old ones for mroe than you probably paid for the whole job!
