V6?

Hello, As you probably all already know, I'm new here. So introductions first, my name's michelle I'm from New Jersey. I'm looking for a 2nd car, i just sold off my 99' V-6 Ford Ranger. All my money went towards my race car (69 Camaro). Now I've saved up and I'm ready for another vehicle.
Alright so I'm a HUGE car buff, I love american muscle, I was raised with Chevy's, but Mustangs are definatly one of the favorites. I'm now looking for a daily driver, orginally I was just going to get a z24 or something, but that didn't really appeal to me. They're cheap and boring looking to me, and the road noise also sucks.
I need something decent on gas, sporty, american of course, and under 10K. I'm wondering if a 99-04' V6 would be a good choice, so I figured I could get some advice around here. I'm looking for something sporty looking, the stang definatly appeals to me without a doubt. I'd also like something quick, 190hp at the crank seems pretty reasonable. I'm not expecting a race car obviously, but will the V6 give me that little "kick" I'm hoping for? I'm not speed obsessed when it comes to everyday driving, i get my speed on at the track every week. I'd like something quicker then most other cars on the road, but it's not a top priority.
The look is definatly a must. I'm going to treat my car like a baby. I'm probably not going to get too many performance upgrades except maybe the air intake and a new exhaust system, nothing huge. I'd like to put on the Cobra R kit, maybe with the Saleen spoiler instead of the Cobra R one. The Cobra R wing is a bit too obnoxious for me, but I'm not sure which spoiler I'd like the most. I'd be mixing and matching. Call me a "poser" if you'd like, putting a Cobra R kit on a V-6, but whatever, It's not your car, it's mine. I obviously can't afford a Cobra R, and only 300 or so were made, and I love the look. I'd like a red stang with white stripes, painted on of course.
I'd probably also get the Chrome Cobra R 17s. Nothing too outrageous, I just want to change the appearence a bit.
I don't care if you think I'm weak getting a V6, i could easily get a 5.0 Fox body for even cheaper, but I'm not crazy about fox bodies. Basically I'm looking for something sporty looking, even more so if i customize it, with a bit of a "kick".
Now I'd like your opinions. With all I've said, do you think I would be happy with a 99-04 v6? How's the road noise? If there's any 99-04 v6 owners please tell me your likes and dislikes about your car.
Thanks, and nice meeting you all.

You will like it. With the exhaust and intake you already mentioned, along with 4.10 gears that I would recommend you have a great car in a '99-'04 V6. We did those same mods on my wife's '04 and I like driving it as much as mine.
The 99-04's are definitly great and can be bought pretty cheap since there isn't much demand for them. If you get a stick they run mid 15's and automatics run low 16's.
A 69 camaro must be nice, I'm looking at a 67 dodge coronet right now as a project car.

I'd never be able to get a Firebird, my older bro had a 00' Trans am. He flipped at 105mph it and we almost died, it would be too eerie for me to get in one again. My friend's got a WS6, it's a beautiful car, but I just can't sit in it, brings back way too many bad memories. Not to mention it would break his heart if i ever got one. But i believe he learned his lesson despite amnesia. He's on his way to a V6 camaro. I think I learned the bigger lesson, even though I never made the mistake.
Anyway, enough with my sob story. Thanks for all the advice so far, I think I'm pretty sold, I hope to become part of the family.

I think you'll enjoy a 99-04 v6. If you do change your mind and decide to work on the engine, it's a great engine that can take a lot of power. If not, it's still got just enough kick for ya.
I love everything about my car. It's affordable for me, since I'm young and in college... and it's a real looker. I get more compliments than most people think a 6banger would ever get.
The only thing I don't like about my car is that it's not a v8-- but, it's a great starter mustang.
