we were worse then the s197 section is today

for 4 years of my life this has been the longest comitment ive ever had
I wouldnt even bother with a CAI honestly, the stock one is pretty efficient, its the filter that causes problems.
But if you really want a shiny piece of metal under the hood go on ebay and find a $20 CAI and replace the filter that they gave you (because it is ususally crap) with something nice like a K&N you may spend $60 total and have a better performing product than the American Muscle intake.
Now if I were you I would get a set of GT take off mufflers and install those to make the car a little bet more "enjoyable", then use it to go from a-b and save your pennys. Dont pour your money into it because you wont ever get it back and the gains are not that rewarding.
Just be rational about it, I am guessing its your first car and it probablly has high miles, do do your best not to get attached because soon you'll want an upgrade.

100% agree, it only feels fast at first, but over time i got used to it, and want something more. still happy that i almost owned a bike. don't put all the money it her, but doesn't mean don't take care of her at all either. I'm just saying after a while you'll want to get a V8.
