Mods
Ok i just bought a 94 v6 mustang. its an automatic with everything stock on it. i dont have very deep pockets since im 17 but i would definately like to have some mods...any ideas on what would be great yet cheap mods to perform?
Cheap:
K&N air filter, remove/cut (your choice) the air silencer (same as a CAI).
Shop fabricated exhaust system.
Shift Kit.
Middle Range: (same yield as above)
CAI (BBK, MAC, etc, stay away from ebay IMO)
Jegs, Summit, Pypes H Pipe
Borla, Magnaflow, Flowmaster, SLP, other catback system (you'll buy for a GT here)
SCT, Diablo, Sniper Tuner (can be used as a shift kit and can do other things as well)
My Recommendation: (non show intended)
K&N air filter, remove/cut the air silencer (cai for show)
(ceramic shorty headers for show, long tubes sound ricy IMO on a stock engine)
Jegs O/R H pipe
MIL eliminators
Jegs, Summit, Magnaflow, SLP, or Flowmaster Mufflers 2.25" offset/offset
Shop fabricated catback
SCT Tuner from VMPtuning
3.73 gears
Ford T-lok
23 tooth speedo gear
Perform yourself: (will net you around 20 rwhp)
Remove the upper/lower intake manifold and gasket match them to the stock gaskets.
56mm Throttle body, and gasket match that to the upper intake
Unistall the heads, bring to a local machine shop (or buy online) and have them ported/polished.
24lb fuel injectors
or:
Go to a junk yard and buy the upper/lower intake, and the spark plug and coil system, and then do the same as above but with a 65mm throttle body, and you'll gain around 60 rwhp.

Poor-man's CAI FTW.
Tis the only real mod on mine right now even. K&N air filter (~$50), and assuming the general layout of the intake is the same as my 2000, just unbolt the air filter box, pull it off the car, and yank the snorkel off. Pops right out with very little force if you do it in the right direction (if you view it like an "L", bend the two legs of the "L" toward each other. Mine popped out that way with hardly any effort at all). Reinstall snorkel-less filter box with the K&N and you're set. In the long run it shouldn't cost hardly anything, since K&N's can be cleaned instead of needing replacement.

Tint the windows, get a spoiler (cant see if you have one or not), new rims! If your looking for just proformance, poor mans CAI (ebay, $70), GT rear sway bar (really helps handling IMO). Those are 2 small things that help! If you can afford it, get a duel ehaust set up, it can be done for under $225 if done right. Just some small stuff to start with.
