yea its possible. you just need to do a splitport swap first. do some searching on that and you should be set. you will basically have to swap your heads, lower intake, and upper intake (windstar). along with some fuel lines and small other things.

will a windstar motor swap be easier? just pull the whole thing off a windstar and swap motors or will that just confuse the hell out of the rest of whats under the hood?

it would really probably be easier to do the splitport swap. btw the windstar and mustang blocks are exactly the same as the mustangs. the lower intakes and heads on the 96-(not sure) windstars are the same as the mustangs as well. so you could get mustang heads and a mustang lower intake then bolt on the windstar upper.

ssm sells a kit...

I think the casting on the windstar block is different, the intake is also backwards, it's a fwd vehicle remember.

start with the split port swap. its an easy way to bolt on almost 50hp. then look into some bolt ons and other goodies. for the money, you might be able to find some other ways to make 5-7 hp/tq cheaper depending on your current mod list.

i have not researched this but wouldn't it be possible to get the intake from the windstar when it was single port?

doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose? i thought the whole idea was to go split port. i aint trashin your idea by any means, if it does any good to get a single port windstar let me know seems like less work and money but i think that is kinda missing the point

and after looking at the windstar motors it looks like they are facing the opposite direction. the intake i saw shot towards the driver side. the mustang i saw it with the intake shot straight towards the radiator.so a straight motor swap is prob no good for that fact and the fwd thing.

so the intake manifold is the blob looking thing i have now and the black thing sitting on top of a windstar motor, and the lower intake is what it is sitting on? i had to replace the intake manifold gasket when i got my mustang so that is a piece of cake, does that mean i have to go one level lower and pull the next section under the blob. and is that where the head gasket sits?

i have the windstar intake and i love it so i would recommend it to everyone and yea if you have the funds go ahead and do the entire swap. Just get the prep work for the intake done, or are you buying the kit?
