Y-pipe removal help
Okay, I'm halfway through pulling my stock exhaust for my o/r h-pipe/duals setup. But I'm sure you guys all know where they have the stock y-pipe bolt up to the headers, and what a pain it is to get to the bolts. What's the easiest way to get to the bolts? I'd like to get everything done by tomorrow (I'll stay up all night tonight working on it if I have to). Can anybody help?
I'm starting to miss my old civic... the exhaust system was a lot easier to work on than the mustang (still, it's nice having torque and rwd
). Anyway, I'll see if I can't get to the bolts with an extension; I just noticed that some of the bolts were at... um... interesting to get to angles, and wondered if there was an easier way to get to them. Thanks

All right, just here to say I got everything done (the duals installed and everything). The deep socket I was using was a 3/8" drive, and I managed to find about a 10" long 1/2" extension, but I managed to find my 3/8" to 1/2" drive adapter. The bolts came off without a problem, surprisingly (but soaking with wd40 (couldn't find my pb blaster) probably helped a lot too). So, thanks for the help, Matt
Anyway, I got the duals on after a little "custom" (redneck ingenuity lol) fabrication of exhaust hangars (cut the stock muffler hangar in half and used half for each muffler and I fabricated my own tailpipe hangars. I have a slight exhaust leak where the left header meets the h-pipe; I'll probably deal with it until I find time to extend the wires for the secondary o2 sensors (left all my wiring ish back at my apartment at college); I'm so sore from crawling under the car in awkward positions that I really don't want to be under there for a few days lol. Pictures and before/after exhaust clips tomorrow.
