Default Throttle response

Hey guys, I was wondering how the throttle response on a stock 2002 mustang is supposed to be, when I put my foot to the floor, my car always seems to bog first, before it picks up and goes. Is anyone elses like this? Does it just need a tuneup? It only has 75,000 mi on it so I cant see this being the case.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Could be a restriction in your exhaust

Love the new sig.

Sounds fuel/ignition related to me... a tune-up sounds like a good idea

Is your car an automatic or a stick? at what speeds and circumstance does this happen? Your auto may be slow to shift down. With a stick, at the risk of making an obvious statement, you may need to shift and/or slip the clutch to get your revs up.

Otherwise it could be anything that makes your car not perform. Is your CEL on ?
I hope this is useful.

Stock v6's are very boggy when you just smash the gas.. most any car will be. Thats a huge request you're giving the computer to put on the engine. There will be a small bog, but it should pick up in less than a second.

It sounds like you have an auto. You have to give it a second to drop a gear (or 2) then accelerate.

01+ had IMRC's, right? I wonder if this bog you're feeling is the IMRC's changing runners in the intake.

What rpm are you at when you downshift? Are you downshifting?
